For people who just want to stay on top of the news or who are actually in a same sex relationship and want to get married, learning where gay weddings are legal is obviously quite important. There has been a lot of progress because there are now many places around the world where gay weddings are legal. Because of this, there are many same sex couples that have to travel elsewhere, away from their hometown and loved ones just to get married. This means that in many cases if a gay couple wants to get married they have to travel outside of their hometown in order to do so.

Gay weddings are legal in Canada and Mexico. In the United States there are a few states that allow for same sex marriages including Connecticut, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Maine, New York and Vermont. Europe has more places that allow for gay weddings than anywhere else in the world.

Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Sweden, Netherlands, Norway, Spain and the United Kingdom are just a few places in Europe that a gay couple could travel to and marry legally. There are other locations around the world that allow for gay weddings too, but these are the main ones and those that most gay couples travel to if their hometown doesnt allow it. Same sex couples therefore really need to make an effort to be aware of this and stay on top of more news on this. Its also helpful to watch out for protests or meetings being held that you can attend and get your voice in.

We always hear celebrities talking about gay marriage and what it means to them. Celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres and Lady Gaga make a profound effort of letting people know whats going on in the world and how they can help fight for equality. One of the states with the biggest issues with gay weddings is California. Its important to have equality and gay weddings should be no less important than heterosexual weddings.

While everyone has their own point of view, its certainly frustrating for same sex couples who want to marry. Its expected that over the next decade the number of locations around the world that allow for gay marriages will increase tenfold. Until then a lot of same sex couples will just need to deal with it or travel to get married. At least people are making progress and its expected that gay weddings will soon be legal everywhere in the world.
